A soft distraction

I tried my very first actual client today at my studio.

Well…not my studio.

More like a space im stepping into, still figuring out how I belong in it.

I had nerves, but not the kind that come from inexperience.I’ve worked on real people before.

It was different.

The energy there feels … higher.

Like there’s an expectation sitting in the room with you.like you’re not just practicing anymore , you’re becoming something in front of people. And i realized something while i was there-

I’m still not sure who I want to be in that space yet.

And that’s not exactly bad…

Do I wanna be quiet and focused? Soft and welcoming? Confident and already sure of myself?

Or am i still allowed to be in-between.

And then I zoom back out.

I’m at the airport again, watching people move like they all know exactly where they’re going .

Green Eyes plays softly in my ear, so graceful it almost slows time down.

And somehow, my heart and my mind finally meet each other .

They calm down.

This is why i love music.

It distracts me just enough to breathe again.

But not enough to lose myself.

To forget everything for ten minutes…

Wow.

What a thing.
